| So ~ just a very simple thing..... I need a math formula. A formula that a grade 8th student can understand (which is me xDD) You can give me anything but slope formula, area, perimeter, circumference, percentage/base/rate, and distance/velocity I hope to get some from you girls >< | |

| the Pythagorean theorem: a^2+b^2=c^2
algebra: (a+b)^2= a^2+2ab+b^2 (a-b)^2= a^2-2ab+b^2
for arithmetic sequence(even though i learnt these in canada this year..but i knew the formula since grade 3): # of terms: (last# -1st#)/difference+1 sum of total terms: ((last# +1st#) * # of terms)/2
the basic algebra ones i'm sure you know them already...i can't think of anything easy on top of my head..i'm using formulas everyday, but i'm not sure you can understand or not. ask me if you need anything

| Thank you Kiri! (but I think Pythagorean theorem is too advanced x3) When I graduate, I totally forget the things I hate BTW, I'll also ask if I did a correct thing on this ↓ - Spoiler:
_______Base____Rate____Percentage 4%_______x_______0.04_______0.04x 8%_______y_______0.08_______0.08y Total___$90000_____0.12______$6,400 ___________________________________________________________
1st equation → x + y = $90,000 2nd equation → 0.04x + 0.08y = $6,400 ___________________________________________________________
0.04x + 0.08y = $6,400 0.04y + 0.08y = $6,400 0.12y = $6,400 0.12____ 0.12 y = $6,400 ____0.12 y= $53,333
x + y = $90,000 x = $90,000 - y x = $90,000 - ($53,333) x = $36,667
The table is correct. I'm just not sure if I did the correct thing on step 2 & 3

| sayumi~~your answer doesn't seem right..here's my way of solving this question just tell me if you need me to explain anything in details - Spoiler:
1st equation → x + y = $90,000 2nd equation → 0.04x + 0.08y = $6,400
0.04x + 0.08y = $6,400 4x + 8y = $640,000 (times everything by 100) x + 2y = $160,000 (devide everything by 4) → 3rd equation
using elimination 3rd equation - 1st equation = (x + 2y)-(x+y) =y = 160,000-90,000=70,000=y
using substitution sub y=70,000 into the 1st equation x+70,000=90,000 x=20,000

I'm actually having problems solving a problem on my own, sometimes, I need a guide (what I do is do the same steps and just change the given numbers & variables >< )

| Aaaaa ~ can I ask again?? xDD My classmate gave me a problem. He said he'll not help with our group project if I don't solve this : Problem: The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is 12. If the digits are reversed, the new number is 18 more than the original number. Find the original number. I started with this ↓x + y = 12 → 1st eq. y + x = 18 + 12 → 2nd eq. _______________________________________ y = -x + 12 y + x = 30 → 3rd eq. _______________________________________ Then, I can't get the correct answer but I did was... ↓-x + 12 - x = 30 -x + x = 30 - 12 x = 18y = -18 + 12 y = -6 | |

| ahh this question is similar to the previous one but not exactly the same - Spoiler:
let me give u an example before i start doing the question the number "29"---unit digit is 9 and 10th digit is 2. if you want to get 29 from 9 and 2, what you need to do is 9+2*10=29
once you get this, the question becomes soooo easy. let x represents the unit digit and y represents the 10th digit
so the number you want is 10y+x if the digit reversed, that means the unit digit is y and the 10th digit is y 10x+y
and is given that the new number is 18 greater than the old one, so the equation is: 10y+x+18=10x+y 9y-9x=-18 (move all the letters to the left and the number to the right) y-x=-2 (divide everything by 9)-----equation1 x + y = 12 -----equation 2 (you got this one coreect)
last step, use elimination equation 2-equation1 (x+y)-(y-x)=12-(-2) 2x=14 x=7 using substitution x+y=12 7+y=12 y=5 so the number is 7+5*10=57
we can check, if the number is 57, the reversed one will be 75. 57+18=75
hope you can understand what i'm saying (excuse all my grammar mistakes><)
